ABOUT THE MS BIKE
RIDE
For more information about the 2009 bike MS Ride, please refer to the Event Details Page.
- Where does my money go?
Sixty cents of every dollar raised In Nebraska stays in Nebraska to provide clinical
programs and services. Forty cents of every dollar goes toward our national efforts for
research and to further our cause.
-
How much money should I raise? There is a $200 minimum required.
However, last year cyclists raised on average $478! You will be amazed at how
easy it is to ask your friends, family and co-workers to support you once you tell them
you're helping to end the devastating effects of MS.
-
When and where do I turn in my pledges?
There are three easy ways to turn in your pledges:
- Fundraise
online! Pledging online is a quick, easy, no-hassle way for you to collect
funds from friends, family and co-workers in your
community.
-
Turn
in your donations the day of the event using the pledge envelope the Chapter mails to you
prior to the event.
- Mail
or drop off your donations at the National MS Society office at:
328 South 72nd Street
Omaha, NE 68114
Be sure
to put your full name in the memo portion of each check so we know who to credit the
pledges to!
-
What if I need
more pledge sheets or brochures? Email us to have a copy of the pledge sheet or
brochures mailed to you. You can also call us at 1-800 FIGHT MS to
request additional Bike Ride materials.

-
This route is on the highway. Is it safe?
Safety for all participants is foremost on our mind. The route is carefully marked and patrolled. Please view this safety video for rider etiquitte.
-
I want to bring
my kids with me. Do they need to register? Safety for all
participants is foremost on our minds. Any rider 12-17 years old must have signed
parent's permission and be accompanied by the parent or guardian that is 21 years old, at
all times during the bike ride. This guideline also applies to riders on Tandem Bicycles. Due
to the length of the ride, our recommendation is that riders are at least 16 years old. Bike
Trailers and Child Carriers are not permitted on the ride.
-
What if I can't
finish the Bike Ride? No problem! There will be accessible
support vehicles patrolling as necessary, a support vehichle can pick you up and take you
to the finish line. There will also be rest stops along all bike routes for you to
take a little break if you want.
-
What if it
rains? The Bike MS Ride takes place rain or shine. Come on, it's
Nebraska! You'll have a great time with friends, family and co-workers while
supporting a good cause whether it's sunny, cloudy or rainy!
- When do I
receive my prize?
Bike MS participants who raise $200 or more will
receive an official MS Bike t-shirt at the event. Raise over $500 and a prize redemption
certificate will be mailed to all bikers eligible after the fundraising deadline
(TBA).
- Do I have to pay for
parking?
Parking is free to all bike MS participants
-
Can I donate my
prize back to the National MS Society? Yes! You can donate your prize
back to the National MS Society. If you choose to do so, the money will be used to
fund vital research, progams and services for the 7,100 people affected by MS in Nebraska

you. A compelling personal page attracts and engages supporters. While you can spread the
word using customized e-mail solicitations, your personal campaign page can be your own

layout and style that work best for you. Utilize the elements of text, photo and status
indicators to their fullest advantage.
